Description
This images was shot in Eugene, Oregon in 2010. The rooster was a pet of a friend of my named Chanticleer. It is known as a The Polish/Poland Chicken or a white/silver crested black rooster. The Polish is believed to be a European breed of crested chicken with a connection to the Netherlands as it was Dutch breeders who developed different varieties of the bird. Where they actually came from is uncertain. The bird was apparently assigned the name, The Polish, due it's Polish's dome-shaped skull.
Polish Chickens are quite often raised as show birds and are usually calm and friendly, However, I took a number of images of Chanticleer when I visited my friend, and he was not a very friendly rooster and did not cooperate with me and my camera constantly squawking and charging me and the camera. I had to sneak up from behind and try to get in front him to get a good shot. A few of the images I was able to get have been uploaded on FAA.
