About Bob Phillips
Capturing a Moment of Experience For me, photography has always been an extension of my travels and of my curiosity. Unlike the artistry of most landscape and commercial photographers, early in my journey with photography, time did not always allow me to seek perfect conditions, take repeated exposures, or make numerous adjustments to the configuration and settings of my equipment. As a result, my early photographs are not so much artifacts, but rather attempts to record a brief moment of my own experience. The angle, hour, lighting, and weather didn't always cooperate. It was serendipity that the composition, color, emotion, and subject matter of some of the thousands of photographs I have taken successfully captured the moment as I...

Thank you for your response. I think knowing about the history of places, buildings makes them that much more interesting. It well could be a guest house. They do things differently "over there" than we do in this country. It amused us to find that farmers don't live on the land over there but in town, commuting to work. Again, thank you

I can smell them without even being there--the power of suggestion. I also love blues and a lot of flowers don't come in that color. Your photo is stunning, in color and in content. The eye follows the rows to the "neat" building at the end and then sweeps across the trees beyond that. Do you know the purpose of the building?? It is odd in shape and size. Thank you for sharing your adventure with me. Very eye catching photo.
Bob Phillips replied:
The image was shot just outside the Provence perched city of Saignon, France. Since the small building was in the center of a lavender farm, we thought it to be a small farm house. However, it appeared to be used as a place one could rent for a stay in in the area. We have been to the area twice, and stayed in a small farm apartment not far from this location. It is near a number of great places to visit. Thanks for the comment of this image and others I have posted. peace bobp
